BIOGRAPHY
I grew up in Greenville, Gowen, and Rockford. I went to Greenville schools K - 5th grades, then Christian schools 6th - 10th grades, and finally graduated from Rockford High School. The summer after graduation I went to Peru, S.A. for ten weeks on a Mission Project. For my Bachelors degree, I attended the University of Alabama in Birmingham where I lived for a decade. While studying I had the opportunity to study in Guadalajara, Mexico for a summer, Seville, Spain for my junior year and then to travel to Ghent, Belgium to study for a month, and lastly to Berlin, Germany where I also studied for a month. We moved to Sunbright, TN where we lived for 25 years. During that time, I earned a Masters Degree in Education from the University of Phoenix online program. This degree enabled me to teach Spanish there for eighteen years. We just moved back to Michigan in July of 2023 and we love it here. It is a joy to have the opportunity to teach Spanish to the precious students here at JCS. We have three adult children and four wonderful grandchildren.
THREE FUN FACTS:
- Cooking is my happy place. I love to cook Mexican, Spanish, Italian, Chinese, and other ethnic foods. I also love to bake bread, cakes, and cookies.
- Traveling is a passion. I have been blessed to visit over twenty-five different countries.
- I love to sew and to craft. Creating new things for decorating, making clothes, cross stitching, and needlepoint are some of my favorites, as well as scrap-booking. "Sew much crafting, so little time."
